Masamoto Knives Review

There is a lot of interest in Japanese Knives these days and for good reason. High quality Japanese knives have some clear advantages over German knives such as steeper ground edges and higher quality steel. Many avid cooks swear by brands like shun and Global as they have penetrated the US Market.  Masamoto Knives are not well known outside of Japan but we believe that will change as more U.S. cooks start to use these excellent quality knives.

Masamoto is considered one of the top knife manufacturers in Japan. Many of Masamoto's forgers are considered national treasures in Japan for the artistic skills they posses. Masamoto was founded in 1872 but uses the oldest techniques, dating back over a thousand years. We believe that the VG line are the way to go. They are high quality knives with more traditional western handles and the blades are outstanding in quality and performance.
