Buying advice
If you are looking to purchase a range, you have to make a number of important decissions. You can purchase a range that uses either electricc or gas and you can also purchase stand alone units that do everything or you can by seperate modules such as a cooktop and a wall oven. In this review we are focusing on Gas Ranges and will comment on different price categories and the top performers in each class.
High End 36" Gas Ranges:
Reviewers liked the Thermador Pro Grand. They thought it was a very good pro-style range with all-stainless construction. Features include easy to read cooktop control dials on frontl and convection option. The unit also has burners that auto reignite if they go out. The unit is pricey at about $5800. Others in this class were the Viking Professional Series range but some reviewers had questions about Viking's repair history.
